Our research group is part of the State Key Laboratory of Oncology in South China, Guangdong Provincial Clinical Research Center for Cancer, Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, Guangzhou, China. We focus on understanding and intervening in the mechanisms of colorectal cancer metastasis. Our main research areas include:

1. Molecular mechanisms underlying colorectal cancer metastasis.
2. Mechanisms of immune escape and resistance to immunotherapy in colorectal cancer.
3. Exploration of new therapeutic targets and drug development for metastatic colorectal cancer.

PI at Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center and the State Key Laboratory of Oncology in South China. Executive Committee Member of the Molecular Pathology Branch of the Guangdong Society for Precision Medicine. Member of the Tumor Metastasis Committee of the Guangdong Anti-Cancer Association. Member of the Cancer Immunotherapy Committee of the Guangdong Clinical Medicine Society. Expert Consultant for the Guangdong Talent Exchange Association. Dr. Liao’s research is concentrated on the mechanisms of immune resistance in colorectal cancer, the exploration of new therapeutic targets, and drug development. Dr. Liao has published over 20 papers as corresponding or first author in journals such as Science Immunology, Cancer Cell, Nature Communications, and Journal of Clinical Investigation, with several papers listed as highly cited by ESI.
